Maverick Monologues provides a platform for anyone to deliver a self-written monologue (in the first-person voice) from the perspective of any woman no longer living, personally known to the writer or not, from any part of the world - whom you deem remarkable or extraordinary and definitely unsung. And what a veritable encyclopedia of amazing women we have already uncovered - with the help of our presenters - and are steadily building!
Our most recent Maverick Monologues evening - our twelfth - was held on Zoom on 16th February 2022. The event featured seven presenters and over 35 guests who joined us from England, Wales, Scotland, New York, New Zealand, France and southern Australia. Eleven previous evenings (two in 2018 at The White Lion in Hebden Bridge, a further two in March-May 2019 at Chapter 17, Hebden Bridge and six subsequent Zoom events) were also hugely successful, producing a steady band of presenters and listeners.
In all so far, 43 different speakers have presented pieces bringing to life 92 different amazing women.
Nearly all our presentations are available below for you to READ: just click on the name of the heroine of your choice to read the full presentation.
